Dear Lions, Lionesses and Leos of Multiple District 14

 

     You are cordially invited to attend the 85th annual Pennsylvania Lions State Convention at the Holiday Inn, Meadow Lands in Washington , Pennsylvania from Thursday, May 15 to Sunday, May 18, 2008 .  The convention will be hosted by the Lions, Lionesses and Leos of the Magnificent District (14-M) and District Governor Neil M. Canan.  The State Convention Committee under the leadership of PDG William “Bill” Hill has planned for five years to provide the Lions of Pennsylvania a unique convention experience.  Highlights of the many convention activities include informational seminars, interesting speakers, the 2008 Pennsylvania State Lions Parade, performances by the Pennsylvania Lions All State Band, local tours, state council meetings and general business sessions.

International President Mahendra Amarasuriya

Lions Clubs International President Mahendra Amarasuriya of Colombo , Sri Lanka will be our special guest at the convention.  

He is a member of the Galle Lions Club and has served as a District Governor and a member of the International Board of Directors (1991 to 1993).  President Amarasuriya will be the featured speaker at the International Banquet on Saturday night. This convention is a perfect opportunity for you to meet our International President.

 

The annual Necrology Service, which remembers and honors the Lions, Lionesses and Leos who have passed on during the previous year will formally open the Convention on Friday night.  Plan to join this tribute to those who have contributed their talents to build our proud organization.  Following the service will an evening of fellowship, food and fun at the Hospitality Hall. This event is hosted by the Magnificent District and the MD-14 District Governors Elect.

 

The 2008 Pennsylvania State Lions Parade will step off at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 17 and march through downtown Washington , PA.   Participating in the parade along with the Pennsylvania Lions All State Band will be many school bands, marching groups, floats, Lions, Lionesses and Leos.  It is an excellent opportunity to showcase your club, your special project or fundraiser.

 

These are just a few of the featured events.  This Convention offers you the opportunity to learn and then return to your Club inspired with better leadership skills and an attitude of “WE SERVE”.  Be a part of the 85th Pennsylvania Lions State Convention.
